Our experience
Hi! I am Alessandra. It is a great pleasure to welcome you to our website and introduce myself as the owner of AC Travel Management Ltd.
ACTM is a dream which came true during spring 2011.
It has been a project I strongly pursued, because since I was a little girl I have always had my luggage ready to go out in the world and discover new lands, people, cultures and traditions. It makes me very happy to be able to pass on to my clients my passion for travel, along with the knowledge and technique I’ve learned over the years first abroad and then back in my homeland, Italy.
Soon after finishing the Italian Tourism High School, in 1989 I moved to Berlin, where I worked as a free-lance hostess during the many conferences and exhibitions, and also as a travel guide.
After Berlin I moved to Edinburgh in Scotland. Here, while I was working as an interpreter for the Council as well as a tour guide for Italian and German Tour Operators, I also continued to study and obtained the Scottish Higher National Certificate in Tourism.
From 1994 to 2004 I’ve lived in London, where I specialised in the organisation of incentive travel programmes. Initially for European and American companies running their events in the UK, and then for multinational corporations based in the UK, which wanted to reward or motivate their work force, sales teams or dealers, by hosting them for a few days in some of the best locations in the world. I worked with Kodak, New Holland/FIAT, Pringles/Procter & Gamble, Citroen, Hyundai, Deutsche Bank, Worldcom, BP Exploration and many others.
In 2004 I returned to Italy where I worked for a number of years as Travel Agency Technical Director for a Tourism Consortium whose aim is to promote a small, beautiful region on the Eastern Dolomites, just north of Venice. Our main clients were schools, associations, clubs and also some Councils and many individual travellers.
Finally, just before opening ACTM, I worked as a contractor for a Multinational who organised a big event for their clients: I was responsible to handle the hotel allocation for 700 guests over six different locations in the world.
So, now that you know a bit more about my work experience, you will appreciate how over the years I have developed a great knowledge of how to handle groups at various degrees of programme complexity, expectation and budget. My experience is not limited to the UK or Italy, but extends outside Europe too.
